Betty asks…
What is a good diet plan for me keep in mind i have been diagnosed with Diverticulitis?
Currently i am 260lbs and i wish to reach my goal of at least 200lbs. I have recently been diagnosed with diverticulitis so i am unsure of what i should be trying to eat. Apparently 2497 calories per day with 30 minutes of exercise is what is normal but how do i break that up during the day, i have absolutely no experience with this and am tired of being overweight. Please don’t give back any negative feedback, i am honestly trying to make a lifestyle change. Once my body has adapted to the exercise i will be increasing it to one hour per day, i already have the membership at the gym

I have it as well. Eat enough foods with fiber to clean out the intestinal tract, but not so much that you get sick. Focus more on the feces quality, as it must eliminate smoothly. There are pouches that can become inflamed and cause cancer. If necessary, take psyllium capsules. Eat more veggies and less meat. Eat a salad each day. No fried food, more exotic grains, less meat which stays in the GI tract too long. Change is on the way. Regarding physical fitness, a trainer will be your best ally. I am a woman, so I eat less than half of your consumption per day and can live on less. That is because I eschew fat, eat beans, make whole wheat bread and closely monitor my diet.

My husband needs more fiber in his diet, any suggestions?
I need help in planning dinner. Would someone tell me some high fiber foods that taste good too?
He has diverticulitis. Any suggestions on that as well?

Hmm I did a search on google and found this website http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/diverticulitis-diet/HQ00548
My husband eats raw carrots instead of potato chips now. And he has a bowl of oatmeal every morning. High in fiber and lowers cholesterol.
